Everything you need to know

White on whiteHandmade oil26 sizes

A white surface, yet nothing is empty: Minimalist Radiance is traversed by long sculpted veins that cross, diverge, and rejoin like the folds of paper crumpled then smoothed. Created by hand in white oil paint on a thick canvas, the work relies solely on texture and light to exist. In the morning, the edges cast fine gray shadows; in the evening, under a lamp, they deepen to reveal a true bas-relief. This absolute sobriety makes it a piece of great versatility: it pairs well with a living room with soft curves, a bedroom with dark linens, or an office with clean lines. The work is offered in twenty-six sizes, from 40 x 70 cm to 150 x 250 cm, making it one of the most adjustable canvases in our collection, and a custom dimension remains possible. It is painted on demand, so each piece is unique. For those who love calm, bright, and uncluttered interiors, it is the art of saying a lot with almost nothing.

A single motif, twenty-six sizes

Sculpted white
Minimalist Radiance
White relief veins on an off-white background.

The canvas exists in a single composition, but in an exceptional range of dimensions: small elongated formats for a hallway, medium formats for a bedroom, and very large formats up to 150 x 250 cm for a living room wall. Our photos show it hung both horizontally and vertically.

The technique

White, a color worked in volume

Painting in white on white is a demanding exercise: without color contrast, everything rests on the modeling of the material. Here, the oil paint is applied in layers and then worked to form long, flexible ridges, like raised seams. Between them, smoother areas allow light to glide across. This interplay of solids and voids is enough to create a complete design, which is discovered gradually as you approach.

The choice of a thick canvas as a support is not trivial: it bears the weight of the material and offers a stable base for the reliefs. As for the white, it is never quite the same from one area to another: slightly cream here, grayer there, depending on the thickness of the layer and the orientation of the light. It is this subtlety that distinguishes a painted work from a simple decorative panel.

Minimalism, warm version

Minimalism is sometimes associated with coldness. Minimalist Radiance proves the opposite: its sculpted curves provide an almost textile softness, reminiscent of crumpled linen or hand-worked plaster. It naturally finds its place in Japandi or Scandinavian-inspired interiors, alongside light wood, bouclé wool, and matte ceramics.

Our staging photos show it above a curved sofa, behind a headboard with anthracite sheets, on a concrete-toned desk, or in a dining room with white chairs. Everywhere, it acts as a respite: it structures the wall without ever competing with the furniture.

How to install it

1
Measure the wall and identify the reference furniture: sofa, bed, console, or table.
2
Choose the orientation: horizontal above a low, wide piece of furniture, vertical in an entrance or between two openings.
3
Select the size from the twenty-six options, or request a custom dimension.
4
Light from the side: a wall sconce or angled spotlight reveals all the veins.

Sculpted for you: the artist shapes the veins after receipt of your order. Their pattern will therefore never be the exact replica of our photos, and shipping only takes place once the layers of oil are well dried, which requires a little more patience than a stock purchase.
To enhance white: hang the canvas on a lightly tinted wall, pearl gray, sand beige, or greige. The subtle contrast between the wall and the work makes its edges stand out and gives even more depth to the veins.

A gift that never misses

Giving a work of art always carries a part of risk. With Minimalist Radiance, this risk almost disappears: its neutrality allows it to integrate into any interior. It is an ideal gift for a housewarming, a young couple moving in, or the opening of a practice or showroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Won't an entirely white painting be bland?
This is a common fear, but Minimalist Radiance is anything but flat. Its relief veins create a design of shadows and light that changes according to the time and lighting. On a colored or lightly tinted wall, the canvas stands out clearly; on a white wall, it becomes a refined, almost architectural wall texture. White also has a decisive advantage: it does not age with trends and follows your interior if you change your sofa, cushions, or curtains. And in a room already busy with colors or objects, it acts as a pause for the eyes.
Can it be hung both horizontally and vertically?
Our staging photos show the canvas in both orientations: horizontally above a sofa, bed, or desk, and vertically in a library, entrance, or facing a dining table. The abstract composition, made of intersecting lines, lends itself particularly well to this. To remove any doubt, specify the desired orientation when ordering: as nothing is painted in advance, the artist can organize the veins in the right direction. The choice of format, wider or taller, will then be made according to your wall.
Why are so many formats available?
With twenty-six sizes, from 40 x 70 to 150 x 250 cm, Minimalist Radiance covers almost all configurations. Small elongated formats, such as 40 x 70 or 60 x 120 cm, are suitable for hallways and narrow spaces. Intermediate formats dress up a bedroom or dining room. Very large formats, such as 140 x 240 or 150 x 250 cm, allow you to treat an entire wall as a work, like a wall panel. This amplitude avoids compromises: you choose the exact size rather than the least bad, and a custom dimension remains possible.
In which room is this canvas most successful?
It is at ease everywhere, but it excels in rooms where one seeks calm. In a bedroom, above a headboard, it brings immediate serenity, especially against dark bedding that highlights it. In a sleek living room, it structures the wall without weighing down the space. In an office or professional practice, it creates a sober and elegant atmosphere, conducive to concentration. Just avoid rooms exposed to splashes or smoke, such as an open kitchen without a hood, where the white could yellow or become marked.
How to light a white relief canvas?
Light is the best ally of this canvas. Prefer a side or grazing source: a window on the side, a wall sconce, or an adjustable spotlight placed at an angle. This angle gives birth to shadows along each vein and reveals all the relief. Conversely, a powerful front light flattens the material. For the evening, a warm-toned bulb gives the white a welcoming cream shade, while a more neutral light retains its pure and graphic aspect. Feel free to test several positions before permanently fixing your lighting.
Does the canvas arrive ready to hang?
Not quite: you receive a loose canvas, without structure or battens, and the frames photographed in our decor are not part of the shipment. You will need to have it mounted by a framing workshop, which will install wooden supports sized for your dimension. For such a sleek work, two finishes work particularly well: naked edges, without a frame, for a gallery effect, or a fine floating frame in light wood or black, which emphasizes the contour without stealing the spotlight from the relief. Your framer will advise you according to the size of the canvas.
How long does it take to receive it?
Nothing is prepared in advance: the artist starts your Minimalist Radiance when the order arrives, hence a longer lead time than for an item already on the shelf. You must count the time to create the reliefs, then a drying time essential for oil paint applied in thickness, before packaging and shipping. Large formats and custom dimensions may require a little more time. If you have a specific deadline, such as a move or a gift, contact us before ordering so we can provide an estimate adapted to your format.
