The art of controlled asymmetry
Balance draws its identity from a fundamental graphic tension: a metal arch that is never perfectly symmetrical. One branch is longer, more curved, higher than the other. The opaline spheres punctuate these unbalanced ends like counterweights—hence the name Balance. This assumed imperfection evokes both the mobiles of Alexander Calder and the grace of an Asian calligrapher applying their stroke. The result: a light fixture that animates the space by its silhouette alone, regardless of its lighting.

Which model for which use?

The Solo is ideal as a bedside lamp, next to a reading armchair, or as a discreet accent pendant. The Duo and Duo XL are suitable as desk pendants, above a kitchen counter, or in a double bedroom to illuminate each side of the bed. The Trio and Trio XL deploy horizontally like a suspended mobile—perfect above a dining table, a central island, or as a living room centerpiece with their 3 spheres cascading.

Bulb recommendation. Opt for LED bulbs in warm white (2700-3000K), intensity 200 to 400 lumens per sphere. For spheres equipped with E27 sockets, choose frosted G80 or G95 globe LEDs suitable for the opaline size. For G9 sockets, standard G9 LED capsules suffice. The effect is optimal when the LED light remains soft—the opaline itself does the diffusing work. Avoid 5000K or higher bulbs, which make the light cold and clinical.

Balance or Arborescent Chandelier? Both luminaires share the use of metal and blown glass, but their aesthetic principles are radically opposed. The Arborescent Chandelier is an organic sculpture with imperfect glass bubbles and a branched structure. Balance is a geometric graphic line, uniform opaline spheres, a minimalist clean silhouette. Choose Balance for discreet elegance and purity, the Arborescent Chandelier for dramatic sculptural presence.

Opaline sphere precautions. Blown opaline glass is resistant but remains a fragile material during transport and installation. Handle each sphere with care when replacing bulbs, supporting the weight of the sphere rather than pulling on the screw thread. Avoid shocks, abrasive cloths, and aggressive chemicals that could tarnish the characteristic milky opacity of the opaline.

Timeless design gift. The Balance light fixture transcends eras with its geometric purity — it's a gift that never goes out of style. The Solo model is ideal for a first installation (young adult, student, first apartment). The Duo and Trio models are suitable for a housewarming or a wedding: they immediately transform a room into a controlled architectural volume. The Trio XL in Gold finish becomes an exceptional gift for a major event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which finish to choose: Black or Gold?
Matte Black brings a strong graphic presence that stands out against all light walls and adds a contemporary architectural touch. Ideal for Scandinavian, Japandi, minimalist clean interiors or in a room with warm tones (terracotta, ochre, beige) to create a strong contrast. Brass Gold brings a heritage warmth and a golden glow that dialogues with dark walls (navy blue, deep green, charcoal) or Art Deco, mid-century, contemporary interiors with a warm dominance.
Which model to choose depending on my room?
For a bedroom or a bedside table, the Solo in duplicate (one on each side) is elegant and functional. For an office or a reading nook, the Solo or Duo. For a kitchen with a central island or dining table, the horizontally deploying Trio or Trio XL are ideal. For a large living room, a hall, or a double-height room, the Trio XL creates a true architectural installation.
How does the mix of G9 and E27 bulbs work?
Depending on the model and the position of each sphere, some sockets are G9 (compact capsules for smaller diameter spheres) and others are E27 (standard for larger spheres). This distribution is calibrated to optimize light diffusion for each bulb. You will find the precise configuration in the instructions delivered with your order, and you just need to respect these correspondences when replacing them.
Which bulb to choose to reveal the opaline?
An LED in warm white (2700 to 3000 Kelvin), intensity 200 to 400 lumens per sphere. For E27 sockets, frosted G80 or G95 globe LEDs, adapted to the diameter of each opaline sphere. For G9 sockets, standard G9 LED capsules. The expected effect is soft and diffuse—opaline itself is an excellent diffuser, so there's no need to overdo it. Absolutely avoid 5000K or higher bulbs which make the light cold and clinical, contrary to the spirit of the luminaire.
Why is the arch asymmetrical?
This is the signature graphic of the Balance light fixture. Asymmetry is not a defect but a deliberate choice that gives the light fixture its unique identity. One branch is longer or more curved than the other, and the opaline spheres counterbalance these uneven masses—hence the name Balance. This graphic tension evokes Calder's mobiles or the grace of an Asian calligrapher: a controlled imbalance that creates visual movement and animates the space.
Does the light fixture come with a ceiling rose?
Yes, each Balance light fixture comes with its matching metal ceiling rose (matte black for the Black version, brass for the Gold version), as well as the black cable and the complete mounting kit. The cable can be shortened to the desired length during installation. For the vertical Solo and Duo models, allow a minimum clearance of 2.10 m between the floor and the bottom of the lowest sphere.
How do I maintain the opaline spheres?
A soft microfiber cloth, dry or slightly dampened, is sufficient for regular dusting of the opaline spheres. Absolutely avoid abrasive cloths, window cleaning sprays (which often contain ammonia), and any aggressive chemical products. The lacquered metal structure can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a little warm soapy water, never alcohol or solvents.
