Can Boveda or Integra Boost packs be used in the Orbis Vault?
Yes — the Orbis Vault is fully compatible with Boveda 69% or 72% packs, Integra Boost, and all traditional humidifiers. For long-term storage or if you smoke infrequently, Boveda packs are an excellent alternative to the included gel humidifier — more precise and no manipulation required.
Is the Orbis Vault ready to use upon receipt?
Yes, but we recommend a seasoning step before placing your cigars: refill the humidifier with distilled water, close the humidor, and wait 24 to 48 hours for the hygrometer to stabilize. New cedar initially absorbs moisture before regulating it — without this step, it would draw moisture from your cigars rather than diffusing it.
What are the 33 and 52 ring gauges for?
These two rings engraved in the lid allow you to quickly identify the ring gauge of your cigars by sliding them into the corresponding ring. The 33 ring identifies thin sizes (Lancero, Panatela), the 52 ring identifies wider sizes (Robusto, Toro). It's a useful feature for sorting and properly storing your cigars according to their size in the humidor.
What is the target humidity in the Orbis Vault?
The ideal humidity for cigar storage is between 65% and 72%. The Orbis Vault's digital hygrometer displays the current level in real-time — visible through the glass lid without opening the humidor. If the level drops below 65%, refill the humidifier with distilled water only.
