Genuine Spanish cedar: what it changes for your cigars

Its hygroscopic properties naturally regulate humidity — it absorbs excess moisture when levels rise and releases it when the air is too dry, acting as a natural buffer alongside the humidifier. Its aromatic terpenes diffuse gradually into the tobacco leaves, enriching the cigars' flavor profile as they age. And it naturally repels the tobacco beetle, a pest capable of destroying a collection.

Compatible formats & brands

Distilled water only: refill the humidifier with distilled water — never tap water, which causes calcification and contamination. Refill as soon as the hygrometer drops below 65%. A 24 to 48-hour seasoning period is recommended before the first loading.

Capacity varies by ring gauge: 30 cigars in Corona format (42 ring gauge), about 20 in Churchill or Gordo format (60 ring gauge). Capacity depends directly on the ring gauge and length of your vitolas.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Enigma Style's combination lock work?
The gold-toned combination mechanism is configured during the first use according to the included instructions. The humidor only opens with the correct code. The lock integrates with the gold finishes (hinges, latch) that define the Enigma Style's aesthetic — discreet protection without compromising elegance.
Is the interior made of real Spanish cedar?
Yes — the interior is made of genuine Spanish cedar wood, the reference material for all premium humidors. It naturally regulates humidity through hygroscopic properties, enriches aromas through terpenes, and repels tobacco beetles.
What is the real capacity of the Enigma Style?
Between 20 and 30 cigars depending on the format. In Corona (42 ring gauge), you can fit 30 cigars. In Churchill or Gordo (60 ring gauge), count on about 20 cigars. The included dividers allow for organization by brand or format.
Does the humidor need to be prepared before the first use?
Yes — a 24 to 48-hour seasoning is recommended. Lightly wipe the cedar walls with a damp cloth (distilled water), charge the humidifier to 50%, and close the humidor. Check the hygrometer — target 65 to 70% stable. New cedar absorbs humidity before it begins to regulate.
How do I refill the humidifier?
Remove the humidifier and add distilled water only — never tap water, which causes calcification. Refill as soon as the hygrometer drops below 65%. The analog hygrometer integrated into the lid allows for permanent monitoring without opening the humidor.
Can I use Boveda packs in the Enigma Style?
Yes — the humidor is compatible with 69% or 72% Boveda packs as a replacement for the included humidifier. For long-term preservation or if you smoke infrequently, Boveda packs are more precise and require no weekly handling — recommended.
Is the Enigma Style a good gift for a cigar enthusiast?
Yes — glass lid, Spanish cedar, gold-toned combination lock, hygrometer, humidifier, and dividers included. Ready to use after seasoning. Its security mechanism is a rare feature that surprises when opened. Paired with a lighter and a cigar cutter, it is a complete and memorable cigar gift.
