The Celestial Illan lamp is a luminous work of art that floats in the air like an ethereal star. Its body, made of extremely thin plywood, laser-cut along dense equidistant lines, takes shape by the sole force of gravity — each suspension is sculpted by the weight of its slats. The integrated warm LED light source, positioned inside the upper part, projects moving shadows through the wooden mesh, transforming walls and ceiling into a luminous theater. Available in 3 diameters (40, 60, and 80 cm), the Celestial Illan brings the serenity of a suspended universe to your interior. Free shipping. Customer reviews 4.9/5.

When wood becomes light
The Celestial Illan is inspired by the iconic Italian bent wood suspensions that have marked contemporary design. The process is remarkably demanding: millimeter-thick plywood is laser-cut along hundreds of parallel equidistant lines. This cut makes the wood flexible like fabric. Once assembled into a disk and then suspended, it is sculpted by gravity itself: the weight pulls the edges downwards, the internal LED light reveals the grain of the wood. No hand has "molded" the final shape — physics designs it. The result is this characteristic curved silhouette, halfway between a celestial body, a silk cocoon, and an inverted celestial dome.

What you receive

1 Celestial Illan lamp Selected diameter 40, 60 or 80 cm — body in laser-sculpted thin plywood, integrated LED
Suspension & power supply Discreet thin cable, 220V power supply kit, ceiling mount — installation without handling bulbs

Good to know: Integrated LED for life. The warm LED light source is directly integrated into the structure — you have no bulb to choose, buy or replace. This modern LED is designed to last tens of thousands of hours (equivalent to 15-20 years of standard domestic use). This choice also allows the light source to be precisely positioned in the upper part of the body, to optimize the projection of openwork shadows on the walls and ceiling.

Celestial Illan or Luminous Saturn? Both luminaires use natural plant fibers, but their approaches are radically different. The Luminous Saturn is a radial flattened disk made of hand-woven rattan, with a Mediterranean and bohemian spirit. The Celestial Illan is a curved volume sculpted by gravity from thin laser-cut plywood, with an ethereal contemporary aesthetic. Choose Celestial for the poetry of openwork shadows and celestial lightness, Saturn for the clean graphic silhouette.

Precautions for thin plywood. The flexible wood of the Celestial Illan is a delicate material that fears prolonged humidity and shocks. Avoid installation in open kitchens above cooking hobs, in bathrooms or in any room with high humidity. Handle the lamp with care during installation: the very flexibility that makes it beautiful makes it sensitive to excessive deformation. Once suspended, it will naturally take its final stable shape under the effect of gravity.

Exceptional contemporary design gift. The Celestial Illan transforms a room as soon as it is installed — it is a gift that will not go unnoticed at a housewarming, a wedding, or the inauguration of a new real estate project. The 40 cm format is suitable as a more accessible but refined gift. The 60 cm format finds its place as a centerpiece in a living room or dining room. The 80 cm becomes a true architectural installation in a large space — a heritage gift for a large-scale project.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the final shape change after installation?
This is the very signature of the Celestial Illan. The plywood is laser-cut along hundreds of equidistant lines that make it flexible like fabric. Flat, you see a disc. Once suspended, the weight of the wood pulls the edges downwards and the material naturally takes its characteristic curved shape. No molding, no manual shaping: it is the physics of gravity that sculpts each piece. This transformation stabilizes after a few days of installation.
Can the bulb or LED light source be changed?
No, the warm LED light source is integrated into the structure and is not designed to be replaced. This technical choice has two advantages: the LED is precisely positioned in the upper part of the body to optimize the projection of openwork shadows, and the lifespan of a modern LED is tens of thousands of hours — about 15 to 20 years of standard domestic use, which far exceeds the lifespan of a classic bulb.
What size should I choose for my room?
The 40 cm is suitable for a reading nook, bedroom, entryway, or office (5-10 m² space). The 60 cm is ideal for a living room, dining room, or spacious office (10-20 m²). The 80 cm becomes a true architectural centerpiece in a large living room, hall, atrium, or double-height room (20 m² and above). Allow a minimum ceiling height of 2.50 m for the 60 and 80 cm models.
How is it installed?
Installation is simple: the lamp is delivered flat and compact. You fix the ceiling rose to the ceiling, connect the 220V power supply, and suspend the body via the thin cables provided. Once freely suspended, the curved shape gradually reveals itself under the effect of gravity — allow a few hours to a few days for definitive stabilization. If your electrical installation is not up to standard, call a professional electrician.
Is the wood fragile?
The thin plywood of the Celestial Illan is a resistant material for its intended use (stabilized indoor suspension), but its very flexibility makes it sensitive to shocks and humidity. Once installed and stabilized, the lamp is solid and durable. Simply avoid strong manipulation or deformation, and do not install it in a room with high humidity (bathroom, open kitchen above hobs).
What kind of light ambiance does the Celestial Illan produce?
The integrated warm LED diffuses a soft and enveloping light through the hundreds of openwork lines of the plywood. The result is a meditative cosmic ambiance: delicately striated shadows are projected on the walls and ceiling, like a suspended nebula. This is a light that is not meant for functional illumination (reading, working) but to create a relaxing atmosphere — ideal as primary ambient lighting or as a complement to utilitarian lighting.
How do I maintain the lamp?
Maintenance is minimal: regular dusting with a natural feather duster or a soft dry cloth is sufficient. Absolutely avoid water, cleaning sprays, solvents, and any chemical product that would alter the wood and the natural aesthetic of the grain. For hard-to-reach areas in the openwork, a gentle air blower or a vacuum cleaner on minimum setting with a brush attachment is effective.
