How do I install the TESLA in my cigar humidor?
Place the TESLA hygrometer inside your humidor, ideally at cigar height: this is where the humidity and temperature reading is most representative of actual storage conditions. Avoid sticking it against the humidifier, which would skew the reading upwards, or against a wall exposed to a heat source. After installation, close the humidor and let the atmosphere stabilize for a few hours before relying on the displayed values. For a quick reading without opening, choose a location visible through the glass if your humidor is equipped with one, which also limits unnecessary humidity loss.
How do I check the accuracy of my hygrometer?
The reference method is the salt test. Place a small cup of slightly moistened table salt, with the consistency of wet sand, in a sealed bag or box with the hygrometer, without direct contact. Close and wait 6 to 12 hours at a stable room temperature. Under these conditions, the relative humidity stabilizes at approximately 75%. If the TESLA displays, for example, 73%, you know it is underestimating by 2 points: simply incorporate this offset into your readings. What humidity and temperature values should I aim for?

Regarding temperature, a range of approximately 16 to 20°C (60-68°F) is ideal: above 24°C (75°F), the risk of mold and insect hatching increases significantly. Why does the measurement vary after opening the humidor?
