What if you painted The Starry Night yourself? With MaestroColor paint-by-numbers kits, the masterpieces of Vincent van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, and Edvard Munch become a creative hobby accessible to everyone. The concept is simple: the canvas arrives pre-printed with the design divided into small areas, each marked with a number corresponding to a paint pot. Just follow the numbers, area by area, to watch the painting appear under your brushes. Ten works are available, from the blue swirls of The Starry Night to the golds of The Kiss, and the fiery sky of The Scream. Each kit comes in four sizes, from 20 x 30 to 75 x 60 cm, and in two versions: canvas only, or canvas accompanied by a wooden frame that you assemble yourself. A soothing activity for winter evenings, a lovely moment to share, and in the end, a handmade painting to hang in your home.

The concept
Paint a masterpiece area by area
Paint-by-numbers divides a complex image into a multitude of small areas of solid color, outlined by a thin line and identified by a number. Each number refers to a numbered paint pot in the kit. By filling in the areas one after the other, you gradually recreate the painting without having to draw or mix colors. The surface is a printed linen canvas, which you paint directly.
This guided method allows you to achieve a very satisfying result even without any experience, while learning to observe the colors, shadows, and contrasts of a great master. Once painted, adjacent areas with similar hues create the illusion of gradients and brushstrokes: this is how Van Gogh's swirls or Klimt's golden patterns come to life on your canvas.

The art of slowing down
Paint-by-numbers is about giving yourself a break. Focused on one area after another, you forget the rest; the movement becomes regular, almost meditative, and each session advances the painting. It is a hobby you can practice alone, as a couple, or with family, for a few minutes or a few hours depending on your mood, and pick up exactly where you left off.
The choice of works adds a cultural dimension: by reproducing The Starry Night or Road with Cypress, you understand from the inside how Van Gogh builds his skies; with The Kiss and The Woman in Gold, you discover the richness of Klimt's patterns; with The Scream, the intensity of Munch's colors. The finished painting is not just a copy: it bears the mark of your patience and your hand.
How it works
1
Choose your work and size, in canvas-only version or with a wooden frame.
2
Set yourself up on a protected table, open the pots one by one as needed, and keep the image of the final result in sight.
3
Paint zone by zone by following the numbers, closing each pot after use so it doesn't dry out.
4
Let dry, stretch the canvas on the frame if you chose it, then hang your painting using the provided screws and hooks.

The kit includes: a pre-printed, numbered linen canvas, numbered paint pots corresponding to the work's palette, brushes, an image of the final result to guide you, and two screws and two hooks for wall mounting. The version with frame adds the wooden pieces to assemble yourself.
Painter's tip: start with the darkest and largest areas, then finish with the light details. If a number is difficult to cover, a second thin layer, once the first one is dry, is usually enough to hide it.

Usage precautions: paint on a protected surface and wear appropriate clothing, as paint stains can be difficult to remove once dry. Carefully close the pots after each session. The paints must not be ingested: keep the kit out of reach of young children and supervise its use by younger ones.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know how to paint to succeed?
No, that's the whole point of paint-by-numbers. The drawing is already printed on the canvas and divided into numbered zones: you don't have to draw, mix colors, or choose shades. Just identify the number of an area, take the corresponding pot, and fill the surface with care. The guided method allows you to get a very rewarding result from the first kit, even without any experience. More experienced users also find it enjoyable by choosing a work rich in detail or a large format.
What exactly does the kit contain?
Each kit includes a pre-printed linen canvas with numbered zones, numbered paint pots corresponding to the chosen work's palette, brushes, an image of the final result to guide you, and two screws and two hooks for hanging your painting. If you choose the version with a frame, you also receive the wooden pieces to assemble yourself to stretch the canvas. Everything is provided so you can start painting as soon as you open the package, with no additional purchases required.
What is the difference between the canvas-only and the frame version?
The canvas only is delivered without support: ideal if you already have a frame, if you intend to have it framed by a professional, or if you prefer to paint flat on a table. The frame version adds a wooden structure to assemble yourself, on which you will stretch the canvas to obtain a painting ready to hang, just like an artist's canvas. This option costs €10 more regardless of the size and extends the handmade spirit to the finishing of the painting.
Which work should I choose to start with?
For a first experience, Starry Night (Simplified) is an excellent choice: it captures Van Gogh's famous sky with larger and fewer areas. Sunflowers and In the Countryside, with their large blocks of color, are also accessible. Klimt's works, such as The Kiss and The Woman in Gold, feature many small decorative patterns: they are better suited for patient people or those already initiated. Finally, as a general rule, a larger format offers larger areas and is therefore easier to paint.
How to organize my painting sessions?
Set yourself up in a well-lit area, ideally in daylight, on a table covered with a protector. Keep the image of the final result in sight. Many painters start with the dark areas then move on to the light shades, or work color by color to open only one pot at a time. Close each pot after use to prevent it from drying out, and rinse your brushes between two colors. There is no rush: move at your own pace, in small sessions; the pleasure is also in the journey.
How do I assemble the wooden frame?
The frame consists of wooden pieces that interlock at the corners to form a rectangular frame. Assemble them according to the provided instructions, ensuring the angles are square. Then place the canvas, painted side down, on a clean surface, place the frame on it, and fold the edges of the canvas over the pieces, stretching it evenly, side by side, before fixing it. It is easiest to assemble the frame once the painting is finished and dry, so as not to damage your work.
How do I hang the finished painting?
The kit provides two screws and two hooks for simple wall mounting. On a canvas mounted on a frame, the hooks attach to the back of the pieces and the painting hangs directly on the wall. If you chose the canvas only, you can have it stretched or framed by a professional, or use your own frame. For a more polished finish, a simple wooden frame or a float frame beautifully highlights the masters' colors. Your work can then take pride of place in the living room, office, or bedroom.
